A wholly and directly Messianic psalm, Psalm 2 is a powerful prophecy of the New Testament kingdom of God’s Son. Though the heathen rage against Him and His Christ (vv. 1-3), God laughs at them for He installs His Son as ruler (vv. 4-6) of the Messianic kingdom (vv. 8-9). Therefore, all are called to believe the gospel lest they perish (vv. 10-12)!
