Announcements (subject to God’s will)

After a week of self-examination, CPRC confessing members in good standing are called to partake of the Lord’s Supper. Your participation in the sacrament of Christ’s body and blood is in part a witness that you repent of your sins, believe in Jesus Christ as your only righteousness, and desire to live a new and godly life. As this heavenly food can be taken to one’s judgment (I Cor. 11:28-30) and as the common reception of the Lord’s Supper is a confession of doctrinal unity (Acts 2:42), the elders supervise the partaking of the sacrament. Visitors who are members of other denominations must already have presented to the Council an attestation from their church that they are confessing members in good standing and have received permission from the Council to partake of the Lord’s Supper.

On the back table are Bible reading programmes for 2025 on card stock and standard paper.

Catechism tests are marked and available today. Monday catechism classes restart next week, 6 January.

Tuesday Bible study will meet this week at 11 AM to look at Paul’s knowledge of the life of Christ and the early apostolic church, and its source.

The Belgic Confession class will not meet this Wednesday.

The church visitors arrive this Friday. If you would like to have them at your house for dinner, etc., a sign-up sheet is on the back table.

The congregational dinner is on Friday at the Adair Arms Hotel in Ballymena. Please arrive from 7 PM onwards with dinner beginning at 7:30 PM.

Men’s Bible study is this Saturday, 4 January, at 7:30 PM on-line, to discuss Amos 7.

The Reformed Witness Hour broadcast next Lord’s day (Gospel 846 MW at 8:30 AM) by Rev. Bruinsma is entitled, “Alpha and Omega” (Rev. 1:8).

Prof. Kuiper will be giving a lecture on “The Proper Method of Bible Interpretation: Grammatical-Historical-Spiritual” on Wednesday, 8 January, at 7:30 PM. Extra flyers are on the back table for you to pass on to friends and family.

Offerings: £1,063.77. Donation: £83.50 (England).

Translation Additions: 1 French, 2 Russian and 2 Spanish.

PRC News: Rev. J. Engelsma is considering calls from Grace PRC, Lynden PRC and Southwest PRC. Rev. Barnhill is considering the call from Hudsonville PRC.

Thank-you for all your love and care for us over the past year. Your gifts, words of encouragement and especially prayers have been a blessing to us. As we begin a new year together, may “the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: to the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints” (I Thess. 3:12-13). Pastor & Mary
