Quote to Consider

Homer C. Hoeksema on Moses’ birth: “… the birth of Moses was the manifestation of God’s wisdom. Again, we must remember that God is the God of history. He creates as well as employs men, time, and circumstances for the realization of his purpose. At best we choose the proper time, servants, instruments, counselors, etc. God forms them according to his purpose … When we look ahead in history from this time of Moses’ birth, we see that a mighty task awaited this deliverer of God’s people in the liberation of the people from the house of bondage. There was a powerful enemy to contend with. The forming of a veritable horde into an orderly nation was a superhuman task. Dealing with a stiff-necked people in the horrible desert was too much for human shoulders to bear. With a view to his future leadership it was necessary that Moses should be specially endowed with natural gifts and spiritual graces. These God gave him and also made provision that with these gifts Moses should be properly trained. According to the wisdom of God, even the wrath of the king must serve his purpose in the preparation of Moses for the role of deliverer” (Unfolding Covenant History, vol. 3, pp. 225-226).

Encouraging Quotes

“Many thanks for the posting of your Reformed and confessional literature to me. I received the package today to my joy and surprise … The CPRC in Ballymena has my fullest support and affections as a fellow Calvinist … The work and witness of the CPRC continues to be a faithful encouragement for which I am always thankful.” – Co. Antrim

“I have listened to the sermons on Daniel 1-6 a second time, and have been challenged by them and blessed. I started, yesterday, listening to the sermon on Psalm 23 and will continue today. Born for Our Salvation has also been a blessing to me. Pondering on the dire poverty of Christ’s birth and that He suffered great trials throughout His life and then suffered the penalty for our sins has put my ‘light affliction’ into the right perspective.” – Yorkshire, England

“Thank you so much. I am enjoying the CPRC services on-line.” – W. Virginia, USA

“I am listening to the lectures and reading The Reformed Worldview. I also read a British Reformed Journal article on the Nicodemites. I feel I have to start to educate myself in theology and pray to God to give us a church here.” – Hungary

“I’ve been watching the CPRC Lord’s day services and am being blessed greatly by the sermons on Solomon and the Heidelberg Catechism. I’m without a church and it’s a struggle. So thanks very much for streaming your services.” – Essex, England

“Thank you for the sermon in defence of exclusive Psalmody [on Colossians 3:16]. To me, the arguments were irrefutable, convincing and beyond doubt biblical. It is a great aid to me when contending with others for the singing of Psalms in the church’s worship on the Lord’s day.” – Malaysia

“I recently heard of Presbyterianism and I have found fascinating all that I have been learning during this time. But here in Colombia it is not easy to find good study material. Thank you very much for all that you do by allowing us to learn and study the Word of God under the light of the covenant. It is very different. We are a small community of five families, more or less 25 people, but in our heart and in the heart of the pastor there is a passion for the truth. God bless you and thank you very much.” – Colombia

“The CPRC website has been an incredible resource and I feel blessed to have found it. Finally I am starting to understand the Scriptures! I use the website daily for my studies and tune in every Lord’s day via the stream. A heart-felt thank you.” – Dublin

“Thank you for the resources. They will help me to challenge the poison of Arminianism. God bless.” – Lincolnshire, England

“Good to see another baptism! It’s interesting how the church grows through the generations … I have begun listening to the sermon series on Romans 9 from some years ago. Having heard the first one on the early verses, quite how anyone can accuse you (and by extension the PRCA) of hyper-Calvinism is baffling.” – Co. Down

“Always good to receive the Covenant Reformed News and the questions answered by brothers in Christ. May the Lord richly bless you in the New Year.” – Texas, USA

“Thank you for the ministry of the Covenant Reformed News. It is helpful , especially the six comings of Christ before His return at the end of the world.” – S. Wales

“It will be three years since the first e-mail I sent to you, when I was ignorant of the Reformed church and confessions. Now I want to express how much I have been learning by the pure grace of God and that I will continue to learn for the benefit of His people. Thank you very much for the ministry and work to make known God’s Word under the Three Forms of Unity to many of God’s children scattered in this confused universe. Thanks to God for His providence to use this means for His kingdom. May God continue to protect the CPRC as it promotes the Word, fulfilling the great commission.” – Peru

“Please continue your good work for the glory of God and thank you for making resources available for free.” – India

“Just to say thank you very much for all the material, magazines, note, etc., you kindly included in my parcel last time I ordered. I enjoyed reading through it all.” – Kent, England

“Thank you again for the continued work on the Belgic Confession. What a great informative class on ‘Birth Pangs, the Book of Revelation and Earthquakes.’” – New Jersey, USA

“Thank you for putting me on your mailing list for the Covenant Reformed News. I was searching for views on biblical marriage and divorce. I liked the article so much that I decided to read more articles on other topics.” – Fiji

“Blessings from the West Coast of Tasmania! I’ve been greatly edified by the full church services with Psalms (I ‘sing’ along). I’m in the wilderness at the end of the earth surrounded by mountains and rainforest. There is very little church activity here, so I’ve been greatly blessed by your ministry. I’m still very new to Reformed theology, so the on-line teachings are a real gold mine.” – Tasmania

“What a great read is Engelsma’s critique of postmillennialism and dispensational premillennialism, and his defence of Reformed amillennialism. What he has to say about John MacArthur’s antinomianism is quite an eye opener considering his popularity and the success of his ‘Grace to You’ ministry.” – Wolverhampton, England
