Quote to Consider
Herman Hoeksema on Romans 8:1: “That there is no condemnation presupposes that there is a judgment and that there is a judge. It presupposes also that the judge judges. He judges always, and He judges righteously. When we speak of judgment, we are always inclined to think of the future. We are inclined to think of this judgment as a day of judgment that is coming. There is such a day coming, but that will be a day of the revelation of the continual judgment of God. We must not think that the judgment then begins. It is true that there is a day coming when there will be a revelation of this judgment of God. This judgment does not become evident now. Therefore, there will be a day when it will be revealed. But remember, although there is a day coming when this judgment shall be revealed, God judges always, He judges continually. He is the Judge. This is His essential relation to us and to the world. God judges every moment. He judges the heart and the secret thoughts of the heart. If we understand this, we will understand the present tense used in the text. ‘There is therefore now no condemnation’” (Righteous by Faith Alone, p. 303).

Tuesday Bible study at 11 AM will consider what is distinctive, even unique, about Paul’s missionary journeys.
The British Reformed Fellowship Conference begins this week Saturday, 3 August, at Cloverley Hall in Shropshire, England. The programme for the week is on the back table. We plan to live-stream the videos of the BRF conference speeches to the BRF Facebook page (www.facebook.com/britishreformedfellowship) and elsewhere, but we are unsure how good the internet connection will be.
