Quotes to Consider
Herman Hoeksema on Lord’s Day 7: “… all our salvation is in Christ. In Him is our redemption, the forgiveness of sin, the adoption unto children, eternal and perfect righteousness, knowledge of God and wisdom, freedom from the dominion of sin and sanctification, eternal life and light and joy,—all the blessings of salvation are not only merited by Him, but they are in Him. He is our wisdom and knowledge, our righteousness and holiness, our eternal life and peace. In order, therefore, to obtain these blessings of salvation, we must first become one plant with Him. We must be united with Him in a spiritual-organic sense of the word. And the bond whereby we are united with Him is faith, a gift of God, a means whereby God joins us forever to Christ. And when we are so united with him by the power of faith, we become active, and by that faith we receive Him and all His benefits. By that faith whereby we are ingrafted into Christ, we appropriate Him unto ourselves so that His righteousness and holiness, His life and peace become our own, and we rejoice in the God of our salvation!” (The Triple Knowledge, vol 1, pp. 307-308).
Joyce Baldwin on Daniel 6: “The assumption that Persian law could not be altered is made in Esther 1:19 and 8:8 [as well as Daniel 6:9, 12, 15] … in the reign of Darius III (336-331 BC) … that king put to death a man he knew to be innocent: ‘immediately he repented and blamed himself, as having greatly erred; but it was not possible to undo what was done by royal authority.’”

The Covenant Evangelical Reformed Church (CERC) in Singapore wrote to the appropriate civil government office to inquire about a New Employment Pass application for foreigners during this pandemic. The reply was that the Singapore government will not issue any new employment passes during this time. The CERC Session has requested that Grandville PRC put on hold the call for a minister-on-loan (MOL). Let us pray that the Lord will continue to provide for them in this time of their need.
PRC News: Rev. Guichelaar declined the call from Edmonton; their new trio is Revs. Engelsma, Eriks and N. Langerak. Rev. R. Kleyn declined the call from Cornerstone PRC. Synod was able to complete its work by Friday this past week. A report of Synod’s work can be found at www.prca.org/current/news.
