Quote to Consider:

Albert Barnes on II Corinthians 5:16: “The carnal mind has no just views of the Redeemer. To every impenitent sinner He is ‘a root out of a dry ground.’ There is no beauty in Him. And to every hypocrite, and every deceived professor of religion, there is really no beauty seen in Him. There is no spontaneous, elevated, glowing attachment to Him. It is all forced and unnatural. But to the true Christian there is a beauty seen in His character that is not seen in any other; and the whole soul loves Him, and embraces Him.”

PRC News: Rev. Eriks (Loveland, CO) received the call to Doon PRC. Georgetown PRC will call from a trio of Revs. A. Brummel (S. Holland, IL), Haak (Bethel, IL), and Key (Hull, IA).

From the Hull PRC Council: “Rev. W. Bekkering, our missionary to Ghana, has informed our Council and the FMC of certain health concerns that have affected him. During his annual physical done in Pella during his furlough, tests showed that Rev. Bekkering has suffered a series of mini-strokes. Although the effects are not noticeable in visiting with Rev. Bekkering, these strokes have affected his memory and thinking processes in a small way. While that loss cannot be undone, he was given medication and prescribed other activities to prevent further strokes (DV). At present, he will be able to continue his labours. Rev. Bekkering and his wife will continue to carefully monitor his health. If there are any further developments concerning his health, we will so inform the congregation and churches. In the meantime, let us continue to be fervent in prayer for our brother and his wife, together with all our missionaries and assistants, knowing that our health and strength and the advance of the gospel are in God’s Fatherly hands.”
