Quote to Consider:
Charles Ross: “… we have not to deal with a vacillating Saviour, who loves his people today and hates them tomorrow—a Saviour in whom I could have no confidence, and in whose existence I do not believe—but we have to deal with One, who ‘is the same yesterday, today, and for ever,’ and who says: ‘I am Jehovah, I change not; therefore, ye sons of Jacob are not consumed’” (The Inner Sanctuary, p. 21).
Announcements (subject to God’s will):
After a week of self-examination, confessing members in good standing are called to partake of the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper this morning. Your participation in the Lord’s Supper is in part a witness that you repent of your sins, believe that Jesus Christ is your righteousness, and desire to live a new and godly life. As this heavenly food can be taken to one’s judgment (I Cor. 11:28-30) and as the common reception of this food is a confession of doctrinal oneness (Acts 2:42), the elders supervise the partaking of the sacrament. Visitors from other denominations must request permission to partake prior to communion.
This Friday, Rev. & Mary Stewart, Martyn McGeown, and Douglas Stewart plan to travel to S. Wales where Rev. Stewart will give a lecture on “Prayer & the Sovereignty of God.” Please remember this witness in prayer.
The Reformed Witness Hour next Lord’s Day (8:30-9:00 AM, on Gospel 846MW), is “I Am God” (Psalm 46:8-11).
Next Lord’s Day, Seminarian Martyn McGeown will give a word of edification (Church Order 20) in the morning. Rev. Stewart will preach in the evening.
The Council will meet next week Monday, 7 July, at 7:30 PM at the manse.
Martyn, Douglas and Francesco will run a CPRC stall at Ballymena 12th of July.
On Sunday, 13 July, Rev. Stewart will be preaching at two Lord’s Day services in Limerick. Martyn McGeown will lead both the services here.
On Thursday, 2 October, on Revelation TV, Rev. Stewart is to debate Dr. Stephen Wang, a Roman Catholic priest of the Diocese of Westminster & lecturer in philosophy & theology at Allen Hall Seminary (London), on “The Differences and Similarities Between Roman Catholicism & Evangelical Christianity.”
