Quote to Consider

Herman Hoeksema on Lord’s Day 5: “If salvation is to come to us, it must come from above, and it must come in the way of a wonder of grace. The way of escape, if there be any, belongs to those things which eye hath not seen, and ear hath not heard, and that have never arisen in the heart of man. It must be opened by Him Who quickeneth the dead, and Who calleth the things that are not as if they were. Salvation does not lie within the scope of humanly conceivable possibilities. And this we must learn to acknowledge, not only as a matter of doctrine, but in true, heartfelt humiliation. We must indeed become nothing; Christ, the revelation of the wonder of God’s grace, must become all. We must come to the hearty confession that with us the way of escape is impossible, and that all our works and efforts, all our wisdom and philosophy, even all our piety and religiousness, mean absolutely nothing and are of no value whatever as far as obtaining again the favor of God is concerned. All boasting must be excluded. No flesh must glory in the presence of God. We must cast ourselves unconditionally upon Him Who alone doeth wondrous things” (The Triple Knowledge, vol. 1, p. 239).

Encouraging Quotes

“Thank you so much for the tapes, etc., you sent me with the I Peter commentary [i.e., A Pilgrim’s Manual]. I have been much edified by the [Belgic Confession] Article 19 Bible studies and am listening to John the Baptist (vol. 1) through again. It is even better the second time.” – England

“Glory to God. He is revealing His truth to His elect and your ministry is a God-send. I have been following you through Facebook … I would like to receive the Covenant Reformed News.” – USA

“The books I ordered from you arrived safe and sound today. I look forward to reading these, as well as the Standard Bearers, which I am finding of great interest. I feel they are helping my faith immensely, having had nagging doubts as to which is the right path to follow … The more I read from a Reformed angle, the more I am convinced it is the right way, giving God alone the glory.” – England

“Thank you for your latest Covenant Reformed News and the excellent piece on John the Baptist. You made some pertinent points which I hadn’t considered before. Very helpful.” – S. Wales

“Many thanks for the four copies of the book The Mystery of Bethlehem. What a blessing it has been to enjoy these lovely insights. Thanks too for the other items, the book and three cassettes! How providential! I will be at a men’s study day on Saturday and the subject is ‘The Life of Jacob.’ The tape you sent on ‘Jacob’s Wrestling With God’ will be very useful.” – Co. Down

“What a great little magazine the Standard Bearer is. I wish I had known about it before. It’s really good to be able to read articles about which you agree on everything … Being able to correspond with you is the nearest I can every realistically hope to get to a Reformed church, with a properly accredited, trained and Christ-appointed pastor. It’s a desert where I live!” – England

Your explanation of redeemed man made in the image of God is biblical, as I compare Scripture with Scripture, since God’s Word is the only authoritative standard. I look forward to continued blessing as I study the pages of your website, always striving to be like the Bereans mentioned in Acts 17:11.” – California, USA

“I am so grateful for these wonderful teaching pamphlets. They are helping to sort out the confusion of many years of Arminianism, which I always struggled with.
