Quote to Consider

Herman Hoeksema on Lord’s Day 10: “Thus the believer can place his firm trust in the God and Father of the Lord Jesus Christ, fully confident that nothing will separate him from his love, ‘since all creatures are so in his hand, that without his will they cannot so much as move.’ He knows that all things in this world, in heaven and on earth, and especially the things that appear evil, must work together for his eternal salvation. He knows that the eternal Father of our Lord Jesus Christ made all things out of nothing and according to his sovereign good pleasure; that as the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, with a view to him and his church and to the antithetical revelation of his covenant of friendship, he upheld and governed the universe from the very beginning; that nothing ever thwarted or frustrated the realization of his eternal counsel; and that he still upholds and governs the same by his almighty and omnipresent power. He understands that the world to come is not the final development of this world, but the final revelation of the wonder of grace” (God’s Way Out, pp. 243-244).

Encouraging Quotes

“I pray for you and the CPRC daily! I’ve just finished reading Communion With God by Herman Hoeksema. It is a beautiful book. So good. I will read it again. Some devotional books are trash, but Communion With God is top drawer. I have never read a better devotional book. All the chapters cover helpful subjects which strengthen our faith and bring us closer to God. The RFPA books deserve a wide readership.” – England

“Please find enclosed a small offering which hopefully will contribute to the CPRC ministry. I, and others I’m sure, value the resources you offer to God’s people. May God bless you in your work.” – Scotland

“I have received the package of books you sent me. Thanks again for this great gift! The books are very beautiful and very interesting! Would you allow me to review some of these books on my blog once I have read them? I started reading David Engelsma’s book on the Federal Vision and For God’s Glory and the Church’s Consolation. They are wonderful! The Lord keep you in these difficult times. We pray for you.” – France

“It was a blessing to listen to the exposition of I Timothy 3:15-16 on the church … Never have I ever heard a strong teaching on the church like this one. I will listen to it many times to get every detail. I have downloaded the lecture and I will share it with other young people for their edification and God’s glory. The church here is not deliberate in teaching her members sound teachings despite the huge wave of false theology by prosperity preachers all over. It is my prayer that the church will rise from her sleep to save her members from the false doctrines.” – Kenya

“Just a short note to say that I posted your excellent YouTube video ‘Our Identity in Christ’ to my social network page. Thank you and God bless you.” – USA

“A belated thanks for all the extras with the recent G. Vos book order, especially the two Protestant Reformed Theological Journals. I’m on their mailing list now to receive those electronically. Do you have back issues to order?” – England

“I am from Lima-Peru and I appreciate very much your website that is in Spanish. I am a Reformed Protestant too and we are looking to plant a Reformed church in our location.” – Peru

“Today I heard the very beautiful message about Nebuchadnezzar and his dream. Kindly pray for India and for its salvation.” – India

“Thanks for your encouraging e-mail. I am truly looking forward to receiving the books [given to me for translations into Zulu]. I cannot afford to buy the books by Hoeksema … Not only is buying them difficult, but it is also even difficult to find bookshops to buy them here. I read a lot from the Standard Bearer and I appreciate so much the emphasis of Reformed doctrine from the PRC.” – S. Africa

“Thank you for sending me your recent book catalogue. Could you please send me the following … I look forward to receiving these precious books.” – S. Wales

“We enjoy the Covenant Reformed News. We are also listening to the series on Jude. We greatly appreciate the ministry there in N. Ireland.” – Ohio, USA

“I’m enjoying Prof. Engelsma’s lectures on Dordt. Good stuff.” – England

“Wow! I have just finished listening to ‘Nebuchadnezzar’s Confession That the Most High Rules.’ I have listened to two of the preceding sermons and you have gone deep, way beyond my imagination and my heart was exceedingly warm and joyful to listen slowly, writing notes … The last part of whether the king was regenerate or not was a clincher since another sermon I had listened to had a differing view stating that Nebuchadnezzar was converted. Your explanation was thorough with biblical exegesis made. I would imagine that the common grace teaching would be the prevalent stance among the Reformed stripe. I always thank God that in His divine way, He made my first Reformed interaction with you. There were so many I could have started with but it seems I was put straight at the heart of the Reformed faith from the beginning. Lord God, your name be praised!” – Uganda

“I have so appreciated the articles posted on-line! I am new in studying the difficulties with common grace, and I’m wondering if you have any thoughts about Acts 17:27 in particular? Thank you for your time.” – California, USA

“I recently finished listening to the Pilgrim Psalms series [on Psalms 120-134]. Such a blessing as they spoke to my situation. I started listening to ‘Contending for the Faith’ [on Jude] yesterday evening as so very relevant to the present church situation … I am glad that I am able to send this donation to the CPRC for this wonderful ministry of sounding forth the pure Word of God. The Lord bless and keep you all at the CPRC & LRF.” – Yorkshire, England
